Declaration of fast-food war
19 05 2005So after fighting agaist smoke-industry, the next fight is against all the fast-food titans all over the states by rising and claiming taxes for this? That "fat tax" sounds good on the first point of view, but
" [...] hits hardest at the people of the most limited income"
Fat has its price:
The first fast-food tax in the nation would generate $17 million annually for Detroit, which would take a nice bite out of its $300 million deficit.
Not a bad idea in my opinion, but since I lived in the states I can say it won't be easy for most of the people there.
